How did you get into photography? By accident really. I had no particular interest in photography and in fact rarely used a camera until the advent of digital. I bought a reasonable digital camera (a canon 300d) for product and advertising shots to promote my furniture business. My ex-wife challenged me to take some quality glamour shots of her. I had always avoided taking any form of suggestive shots of women as I have always hated the "readers wife" style of photo and assumed this would be all I was capable of. |

Anyway, the photo's turned out pretty well...and she insisted I had a talent and should pursue it (well, what she actually said was...you have spent enough time trying to s**g every nice looking girl in the country....why don't you try photographing them instead?) So I did and within 2 months of picking up a camera had my first paid shoot. I had a fairly large business at the time, but was completely fed up and looking for a complete change of lifestyle. I got some lucky breaks photography wise and just went for it | |||||||||||
How did your first nude shoot go? Erm...I have only ever done nude shoots and I've always been very comfortable around naked girls (to comfortable according to my ex-wife!), so it went fine. My first "real" shoot was with a model called Charly Kelly and my second was with Britney Lee and I think my third was Joceline...all these models really helped me greatly and in retrospect their fee's were probably the best investment I have made photography wise. |

Shot abroad recently? No, but my long term plan is to base myself abroad. I do not believe what I am doing is sustainable long term in this country. I wont be going to the Czech republic either, I'm almost certain it is already over-exploited and the quality of model we are seeing from there is deteriorating as prices rise. What would be your Ideal location for a Shoot? A mountain waterfall in the Swiss Alps |

What do you love most about the job? The general lack of stress. I have been in business for about 15 years and this is the least stressfull (and most poorly paid!) thing I have ever done. |

Any tips for new photographers? Yes, if you are serious about your photography, forget about buying all the fancy equipment, get the basics and book a few good, professional models to get you started. Don't be afraid to tell them you are a beginner and ask them to help you. They will be delighted to do so, so use their help and experience all you can. Taking photographs of women is not about technical expertise, its about understanding light, form and composition. |

Plans for the future? I have been working on my own paysite for about a year now. I have the rather lofty and pretentious ambition of defining my own style of erotica. Although a fair percentage of what I shoot is porn by any standards, I am not personally a fan of blatant porn style images and my preference is for classy, mildly suggestive, but highly erotic images. What a lot of people might call gay, colour co-ordinated cr*p that girls like! So, my plans for the future involve |

shooting plenty gay, colour co-ordinated crap that girls like and blending it in to a bit of a girly style erotic emporium style site with lots of erotic goodies and services. One other little ambition, as my biggest photographic inspiration is Bob Guccioni (Penthouse late 70's, early 80's) my only real ambition as far as published work goes is to get into Penthouse (The real US version, not the fake UK version) As I write this, it appears this is a realistic possiblity...watch this space as they say.... |
